Jennifer Kindred

Jennifer Kindred knows what it takes to build something from the ground up. Starting her career at 15 and opening her first business by 21, she has spent over three decades mastering the art of business — from accounting and consulting to construction and international real estate. She is the founder of three thriving companies: Kindred Financial Services, providing accounting, bookkeeping, and financial planning across the U.S., Canada, and Costa Rica; Legacy Builds TX, a premium construction firm in Marble Falls, Texas; and Kindred Consulting Costa Rica, guiding North Americans through cross-border real estate and investment opportunities. Certified in both the U.S. and Canada, Jennifer brings the same dedication, expertise, and heart to every client —whether she’s helping them navigate their finances, build their dream home, or invest abroad.



Evelyn Bulakar
Evelyn Bulakar is a bilingual real estate professional and top producer with Keller Williams Costa Rica, serving as the Costa Rica real estate advisor and investment liaison for clients seeking opportunities in the region.
As an international REALTOR® and member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR), Evelyn brings a strong understanding of both U.S. and Costa Rican real estate practices, ensuring a smooth, transparent, and secure transaction process for foreign investors.
With a background in project management, construction, and remodeling, she provides a strategic advantage when evaluating properties, not only from a lifestyle perspective, but also from an investment and development standpoint.
Evelyn has extensive experience working with residential, commercial, and income producing properties across Costa Rica, including vacation rentals, land development opportunities, and retreat style investments. She is known for her hands on approach, market expertise, and strong network of legal, financial, and construction professionals.

Zachary Kay
Zach founded Second Street in 2023, following a career as an investor at Elliott Management, a leading NYC-based hedge fund. Today, Second Street is the largest international mortgage lender in Costa Rica and the first company to bring a true US-style residential mortgage to US buyers in the country.

Jim Smith
Mr. Smith has served as a director, CEO and CFO in both privately held and U.S. publicly traded entities in the energy industry. His professional experience includes three years as a director and CEO and six years as a CFO with two fully reporting U.S. public companies, as well as twelve years as either CFO or Chief Administrative Officer for several private companies in the energy, real estate and agricultural industries.

He has served as a project finance and tax specialist for a real estate development firm and financed over $100 million in real estate projects in Texas and Colorado and a significant development subsidiary of Starr Produce Co in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. He assisted several other clients in the debt workouts for commercial projects in Texas and Colorado. He completed all course work in the CCIM program for real estate brokerage and has financed or sold over 30 commercial projects ranging from single and multifamily for rent and for sale residential projects to office/warehouse and land development projects. He has been a licensed CPA and real estate broker for over 40 years.

His educational background includes a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University in College Station and a masters degree in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. His tax background includes stints as a Tax Manager at Ernst & Young and Senior Tax Manager at BKD LLP – both firms among the 20 largest accounting firms in the USA and has operated his own tax practice since 2017.

The firm is led by Rebeca Zamora Vargas, a licensed public accountant with a Master’s degree in Taxation and more than 15 years of experience in accounting and business administration. She has extensive expertise in assisting foreign investors involved in Costa Rica’s real estate and rental sectors and is duly registered with SUGEF to manage third-party funds in accordance with Article 15 bis, ensuring full regulatory compliance and financial transparency.

Anneth Jimenez
Anneth Jiménez is a Partner at BLP in San José, where she focuses on Real Estate & Hospitality and Business Law. She has built extensive experience in the development, structuring, financing, and sale of real estate projects across Costa Rica, advising hotel chains, corporate centers, urban and coastal developers, as well as companies operating under free trade zone regimes.

Her expertise covers construction and operational agreements—including build-to-suit and turnkey contracts—comprehensive due diligence for property acquisitions, and the legal structuring of water supply arrangements. In the business law arena, she counsels both local and multinational companies on contractual matters and supports the establishment and operation of well-known franchise brands throughout Central America.

She joined BLP as an Associate in 2006 and was promoted to Partner in 2017, reflecting her significant contributions and leadership within the firm.

Mr. Gregory
Mr. Gregory earned a Bachelor of Science in Business–Insurance from Pennsylvania State University in 1994, followed by a Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law in 1999 and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from Boston University School of Law in 2000.
He began his legal career in 2001 as a Senior Attorney with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel in Washington, D.C., working in the National Office’s International Branch 5. In this role, he advised field attorneys and revenue agents on complex domestic and international tax issues involving financial institutions and products, and contributed to the drafting of U.S. Treasury Regulations, Revenue Procedures, and other IRS guidance.
In 2005, he transferred to the IRS field office in Dallas, Texas, where he continued as a Senior Attorney within the Large Business and International division. His responsibilities included supporting IRS examinations, litigating cases in U.S. Tax Court, serving as Industry Coordinator for S Corporations, and participating in the International Field Counsel program.
In 2014, he left the IRS to co-found Gregory Law Group, PLLC, where he continues to advise clients on a wide range of tax matters, including audits, appeals, litigation, collections, and formal tax opinions related to business structures and financial products.

Yusuf Bulbulia
Head of Marketing, Sales & IT
Yusuf Bulbulia is the in-house IT lead and Head of Marketing for Kindred Financial Services and Kindred Consulting Costa Rica. A graduate of IT Technical College in Toronto, Canada, Yusuf brings a unique combination of technical knowledge and business development expertise to the Kindred team. He oversees digital marketing strategy, leads sales initiatives, and drives corporate recruiting efforts — playing a vital role in expanding Kindred’s cross-border presence across the U.S., Canada, and Costa Rica.
